Hi there. My name is Darren. Welcome to my website and my detailed bio if you're unfamiliar with my work and what I offer as a dj. I'm an experienced Music Mixologist based in Hull, East Yorkshire. With nearly 25 years of experience in hospitality and nightlife working at various Venues and events up and down the country from clubs, bars, festivals, Professional sports teams to corporate events. I started off in the Hospitality industry in Hull at Circus Circus, The Fez Club & Lexington Avenue (La’s) as a bar man. I was bar supervisor or the R&B room (Orleans) at Lexington Avenue Nightclub as well as been part of the clubs promo team. I gained so much hospitality and nightlife experience even before I picked my fist set of headphones up and started djing. Music was my passion. I purchased my first dj decks from Argos in 2003 and I used to go hime from the club and just practice doing on my home system. I used to try and copy mixes I just heard the djs play in the club. From legendary venues in La's nightclub then to Biarritz my passion saw me finally retire as a bar man and take up a career as a dj. 2 years of practicing at home finally let me to my first ever dj set to a public crowd way back in 2005 at a popular Hull venue called Mainbrace warming for Viking FM's Darren Goulbourne(DG) My first ever DJ residency was called Seductive "Sundays" and it came at the legendary Biarritz in Hull in 2006. This venue had the reputation as being the Mecca for R&B Music in Yorkshire back then and is still talked about today. My early success earned me a resident DJ spot in 2007 for one of the biggest R&B events in the UK called “Roadblock” Which brought the likes of Ja Rule, Ne-Yo, 112, City High, Cassidy, Next, Big Brovas & Lemar to Yorkshire. I had the privilege of working alongside legendary Dj’s like Trevor Nelson, Manny Norte, Olabean & Shortee Blitz on many occasions. Another Roadblock highlight was when I was booked to support UK R&B group Damage at Asylum Nightclub. I was proud of selling out the famous Hull City Hall on two occasions with one as the support DJ for the amazing Beverly Knight in 2009. I had many opportunities to dj at some of of Hull’s premier venues including Pozition Nightclub, The Sugar Mill & Tower Nightclub respectfully. I gained my first experience djing for a wedding when I was booked to dj for a premier league footballer’s wedding at the beautiful Dartford Castle in 2010 This led to another huge wedding booking at the Rowley Manor in East Yorkshire the following year. I held a 5-year Dj residency every Friday & Saturday night at the popular Weir Bar, Hessle from 2008 – 2013. This venue was a popular hotspot for the Hull City Footballers and both Hull KR & Hull FC Players. In 2014 I had a brief stint in radio presenting with my own show called “Totally RnB” which aired live on a local radio station called Hull Kingston Radio on Sunday nights. I was proudly part of an amazing line up for Hull’s first ever HU1 Music Festival at Zebedee’s Yard in 2016 sharing the big stage with the likes of Fuse ODG, DJ Luck & MC Neat & The Trenchtown experience. The same year I had built my own weekly Saturday night event called “Seductive” at The Piper Club in Hull. The busiest and biggest Saturday night in Hull sold out week in week out working alongside UK Garage Legend DJ Pied Piper in the process. I moved on to working in other venues across the city until the country went into lock down in March 2020 due to Covid. During this time, I was booked to headline the only social distancing festival in Yorkshire during Lockdown times in 2020 called “Picnic in The Park” A successful event staged over a 4-week period.

Coming out of lockdown in 2021 I took a Saturday night residency at The Treehouse, Hessle taking their nightlife to another level with Guestlist Saturdays. Full capacity week in week out and creating the best vibes for over a 2 and half till the end of 2023.

I had the privilege of being Leeds United Football Club’s official DJ on many occasions including The Official Player Awards ceremony at Elland Road in 2021 entertaining the full team & owners, The clubs official kit launches event and Leeds United’s Xmas Party for all the staff. I was booked for the clubs Amazon documentary premier at the luxury Dakota Hotel in Leeds. In 2023 I had the privilege of working for Leeds United’s new owners The San Francisco 49’s to provide the entertainment and in game sounds at one of their NFL play-off games screened in the UK for a big American Football Event. In 2024 I made my debut for the match day entertainment for Super League team and 2025 treble winners Hull KR Rugby Club at their Craven Park Stadium playing to over 11,000 people. I retuned a second year ad made 5 more guest appearances in 2025 season. I’m already booked to dj many dates this season(2026). Another huge achievement came in 2024 when I was booked for the first time to DJ in Ibiza during the summer season at the legendary Es Paradis Nightclub working with some of the best Djs on the island then a set dj at the very popular GRB Reggae Bar meeting some amazing people from all around the world. This experience has now secured me two DJ residences in Ibiza. In 2025 I flew out to Ibiza for my second summer djing on the beautiful island. As of now in 2026 and in between my private even bookings. You can find me playing at Pink Parrot late bar in Hull on the weekends for Finesse Fridays R&B night and Seductive Saturdays R&B Saturday night. Last year I hosted a new over 30’s R&B Day Clubbers event called Spotlight when I will continuing in 2026. In 2025 I also made my debut performing on P&O ferries naughties Mini Cruise Live to Amsterdam alongside Kimberley Wyatt of the Pussycat Dolls on the Friday and UK Chart Topping Rapper Tinchy Stryder on the Saturday night with a huge success and amazing feedback from the Director of P&O with exiting plans for 2026.

I’m blessed to of met some amazing artists personally with some of my bets memories. The list includes my fave actor and Hollywood icon Will Smith. After 8 Straight #1 Box Office Hits. Grossed over 10 billion dollars at the box office including Bad Boys, I Am Legend, Men In Black, Independence Day & Ali to name a few making him one of Hollywood’s biggest stars ever. Over 75 Million records sold worldwide. The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air was one of the biggest shows on TV in the early 90’s remaining a beloved classic 30+ years later due to its enduring popularity. His accolades include an Oscar Award, Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award, a BAFTA Award, and four Grammy Awards and he’s happily gave me a dj shout out and we had such an awesome connection all night during his concert in 2025. I’ll be forever grateful to Will. Many another artists including icon in Michael Jackson’s baby sister Janet Jackson, Chris Brown, Usher, 50 Cent, Ne-Yo, Mario,, Jason Derulo, Ja Rule, Ashanti, Nelly, Omarion Jeremih, Akon, Sammie, R&B Group Next & Fuse ODG. Also sharing a cool moment  with Justin Timberlake. I’ve been able to me some great UK artists such as Lemar, Beverley Knight, Dane Bowers, R&B Group Damage, Boyband Blue and Abz from boy band Five.These artists been able to personally connect with from building a career on playing their music in my dj sets over the years including a special moment being part of Nelly’s “Where The Party At Tour 2025”At the AO Arena, Manchester on stage in front of over 15,000 people and getting to experience VIP with him backstage drinking shots and making content and a special dj shoutout. Plus a rare intimate moment live on stage with the Grammy Award Winning artist Ashanti in front of 3000+ people in Leeds.

On top of my professional work. Within the last year I’ve become more of a content creator making mixes and mashups and various content in my free time. Just old School mixing with passion how it always was back in the day. Already my content has been seen and shared all around the world and even recognized, likes, DM’s and shares by some of the artists I’ve mix. From a few collaborations already as my social media and content continues to grow in 2025. I make all my own artwork from flyers and reels. I’ve gained a big passion for this.

After many years in the industry as a club DJ with a residency for most of my career and receiving constant messages asking if I do private events & weddings. I decided in 2025 it was finally time to launch my own DJ business taking Weddings & Private Events booking all around the Uk & Worldwide. 

2025 was a huge year for me personally and one of my busiest to date. Early in the year I secured a Friday & Saturday Night DJ Residency at Pink Parrot in Hull. While  totally transforming the vibe at the venue with my blend of R&B, Hip-Hop, Dancehall & Afrobeats making it a must visit in the city centre on weekends. From my already booked private events including wedding, engagements & birthdays all over the UK. The new DJ residencies, New day clubbing events. playing in Ibiza at the legendary Es Paradise & Reggae Reggae beach. I also played 5 dates for Hull KR at Sewell Group Craven Park Stadium in front of over 11,000 people. Then ending the year making my first appearance for P&O Ferries with there Noughties Mini Cruise Live to Amsterdam performing alongside Kimberley Wyatt of the Pussycat Dolls on the Friday and UK Chart Topping Rapper Tinchy Stryder on the Saturday night with a huge success and amazing feedback from the Director of P&O with exiting plans for 2026.

I also started to learn to play the Saxophone in 2025.  I’ve recently invested in a brand new Yamaha YAS-280 Alto Saxophone and now taking weekly private lessons with a professional tutor. After working with many Sax players over the years at various events and festivals. I’ve always found it an amazing instrument from listening to Jazz music back in the day. As my DJ business takes off I really wanted to try something new this year. I had a dream that one day I could to add this to my DJ business as a rare DJ & Sax Player. I think it would be really cool to be able to dip in and out of my dj sets and jump on the sax. I’ve got some great ideas I’d love to archive one day including learning to play over my type of music like R&B, Hip-Hop, Dancehall & Afrobeats ect, This is my long term vision but i’m just getting started.
